What Does The Bible Say About Having Wise Counsel?

The Bible encourages us to seek wise counsel from those who have been rooted in faith, so as to to avoid been mislead by naysayers. However, God is source of wisdom and guidance so before we turn to those who he has blessed with knowledge, it is important we seek his face first so that he will direct us to the right mentor who will be best for us at that situation. Let us see the book of;

Proverbs 15;22 “Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed”. In this verse throws more light on the importance of seeking wisdom. This simply means that when we lack wise counsel, things go wrong, plans will go off track, but when we seek and have genuine counsel, every plan made will be established.

Proverbs 19:20 “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise”. This scripture encourages us to listen to advise, accept discipline so that at the end we will be among the wise. The Bible knows that we do not have the right wisdom to do things on our own.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”. This passage of the scriptures underscores the importance and benefits of not leaning on our own understanding. When we lay all to God, he will make everything perfect.
