The Bible talks about the heart of man in several scriptures, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. The bible reveals that God is so focused on the heart of man because that is the place where his transformative works manifests. When we experience salvation, it is the heart that is been renewed {Ezekiel 36:26}. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it”. This verse from the scripture exhorts us to guard our hearts for it is the fountain of life. This means that we should be vigilant because from the hearts comes good, bad and evil.

Matthew 5:8 ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God”. God expresses the importance of possessing a heart that is free from immorality and other forms of ungodliness. He states clearly that a pure heart is the only guarantee to see him.

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart”. In this verse, Paul the Apostle acknowledges the power that is in the word of God.
