In our very busy life that is filled with so many troubles, pains and sufferings, we can easily get caught with one or two distractions from the enemy. There is a popular saying that says, “when Satan can not get you, he distracts you”. This saying is applicable to our lives as Christians. Most times when the enemy who is our adversary tries to get us, but fails countless times, then picks up distraction as a tool to get us off track. As Christians, who are not just living our lives the way we want, it is imperative we get rooted in the word of God, meditating it always, so that we can overcome the devil and his numerous distractions and temptations. It is important for us to note that Satan wants to keep us distracted with things so that we will loose focus on God and on the things that are profitable to our souls, thereby preventing us from living a fulfilled life in Christ. Let us continually look unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of faith. In this blog, we will be exploring some Bible verses that will keep us from falling into Satan’s distractions.

The devil tries to distract us in so many ways using different things. One of the ways the devil distracts us is through discouragement. He tries to discourage us from forging ahead in our Christian journey, pointing out our failures, sins and the things we lack, and when we give heed to these discouragements, he takes over our minds and gradually we will stop recounting on God’s blessings. The devil also uses financial constraints to keep us out of the way, but the good news is that we can always overcome the devil and his vices. One way we can turn blind eye to the enemy’s distractions and over come him is by being thankful. Thanksgiving revives our hope and faith in God, that no matter the situation we find ourselves, we will always come out strong.

What Does The Bible Say Satan’s Distractions?    

Jesus admonishes us in different Chapters and verses in the scripture to beware of the devil’s distractions  and encouraging us to keep our faith intact and submit to God at all times and in all things.

1 Corinthians 10:13 “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it”. Here, Christ lets us understand that every distraction and temptations that comes our way is common to mankind, and he clearly stated that God will never allow allow a temptation that is bigger than us to come our way. In other words, it means that whatever distraction we are faced with, we should always bear it in mind that God is aware of it and we have been given the power to come out it.

James 4:7 “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. James speaking to us here, tells us to submit ourselves fully to God and in doing so, we will be able to resist the devil. Distractions and temptations are challenges that we must encounter on our path to righteousness.
