Bible Verses About Missions and Evangelism

Evangelism which is simply sharing the gospel of Christ to all people. This very duty is one that no true child of God can escape. The Bible made us to understand that sharing the good news of Christ is one of our topmost priority as on earth as Christians. We have been saved to save others and bring them into the kingdom of our Lord Jesus. As some people would argue that evangelism is solely meant for Pastors, I am writing to correct this notion that not only Pastors, nor Bishops, nor Apostles have the obligation to bring souls into the kingdom. All Christians have the obligation to go on a mission and bring souls to Christ. The Bible acknowledges that everyone who wins a soul is wise. preaching the gospel of Christ is a very important aspect of our Christian journey and faith. It is part of the things that proves if we are truly followers of Christ. From the life of Jesus on earth, we can see that Jesus was always on a mission that will depopulate the kingdom of hell. He preached tirelessly and with so much passion for the lost souls. We are to follow only the footmarks that Christ and other great Apostles left behind.

The main objective of evangelism is invite people to know Christ for who he is to us and enjoy the benefits that comes with knowing him. This involves encouraging people to turn away from their sinful lifestyles, give their lives to Christ and follow the voice of God. However, not everyone really have the right approach to go on the mission of Evangelism. Evangelism requires a lot such as;

Consecration: To effectively carry out Evangelism, one has to be consecrated to God first. Consecration brings us closer to God and gives us that right consciousness that help to keep us away from sin. We cannot be carrying baggage of filthiness and still go on the mission to rescue lost souls and redeem them back to God. Consecration starts with giving our lives to Christ, undergoing sanctification and duly following the steps and voice of God.

Hospitality: For us to be able to bring people into the kingdom of God, we must be very hospitable and enduring. No one feels safe with someone who is not receptive. When we approach those lost in sins, our aura must come with a feeling of hospitality. That way, they will get to listen to the good news we bring to them.

Knowing The Word: There would be no evangelism if we do not the know the word of God. Being deeply rooted in the word of God exposes us to the right knowledge of who God is. This way, we will get to stand boldly before sinners and speak about God to them. Not only does knowing the word help us to understand more of God, it also puts the right words into our mouths. It seasons our tongue with the words that the hearts of sinners need, when we speak these words, it pierces deep into their hearts and cause them to have a rethink.
