Despite the series of controversies that have been raised in recent times on the issue of who the actual head of the family is, God have stated it in very clear terms that he has appointed the male figure to be superior over the woman and children. Lately, we can all attest to the fact that the level of fight for quality in various homes, offices and even in the house hold of faith is rapidly shooting up. In this era, most women are tirelessly struggling to be equal with men, and the saddest part is that they inculcate such training into the female child. They make the growing children believe that they have equal rights with men, and that no man should present himself more superior. But as Christ followers, we are mandated to follow Christ teachings, and submitting to men as head of the house is one teaching that Jesus expressly explained.

Now, what exactly does it mean to be the head of the household? This is one question that some men do not even have answer to, but here is the answer; To be the head of the household, it means that you to carry the spiritual and physical responsibilities of your family. It entails that as head of the house, it is your duty to see that each member of your family have a solid and stable relationship with God, and physically, you ensure that they have a place to live, clothes to wear, and food to eat. Being head of the family comes with lots of responsibilities that can sometimes be overwhelming. But the good news is that, Jesus is always here to support and strengthen us when our own strength fail us. What Does The Bible Say About Man Being Head of The Household?

As earlier stated that Christ explained in clear terms that man is the head of the family, let us look at some scripture that supports this teachings;

Ephesians 5:22-25 “Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the Church, and he is the savior of the body. Therefore as the Church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing”. These verses critically teaches wives to submit to their husbands in everything, just the way the Church submits to Christ who is the head of the Church.

1 Corinthians 11:3 “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Chris is God”.
