Feeling unworthy is a state where a person feels undeserving of love, respect, and other good things of life. The feeling of unworthiness can be as a result of past sins, low self esteem, negative thoughts, personal failures, trauma, fear and many other negative experiences. And as Christians unworthy feeling can be more intense, because we serve a God that is holy and perfect in all his ways. So when we fail in any area of our lives, the guilt and shame can progress into feeling unworthy. And also, the world we live constantly tries to make us feel unworthy, but as Christians we must have to first understand our place in Christ, God himself called us a royal priesthood. This is a perfect reminder that God does not want us feeling unworthy in any sort of way, his grace is there to make us perfect before everyone. Although the devil always fight our identity in Christ, he whispers lies into our minds to make us feel less, however these whispers are all lies aimed at distorting the truth of who we are in Christ.
Unworthiness is feeling that has the capacity to rub us off opportunities and blessings, it destroys our minds, retards and stagnates our growth. God does not regard us worthy based on the standards of the world, he deals with us on the basis of his grace. His grace is an unearned favor, he give us everything and also make us worthy by his grace, not that we deserve it. Whenever you feel unworthy of any good thing, remember that God has chosen you and you are a royal priesthood. Our feelings of worthiness should not be based on worldly merit and perfection, rather our worthiness should be placed on our identity in Christ and the privileges that we have in him.

What Does The Bible Say About Feeling Unworthy?
Before Christ came to earth to die for us, we were all unworthy before God. Sin made us fall short before God’s eyes. We were all not worthy to fit into God’s perfect standard. It is not wrong to realize that we were unworthy. However, God’s grace picked us up and made us perfect for him. On the cross of Calvary, Christ extended his grace and favor to us.

It is through the grace of God that we are saved, salvation is free and precious gift given to us by God.
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”. When we go to the throne of God, let us go with the confidence that his grace has made us worthy to receive help.
