Whenever we feel down and alone in this world, we should always remember as Christians that God’s presence goes with us wherever we go. He is present everywhere, even in the deep waters and seas. The Bible tells us about the unwavering presence of God that surrounds us even when we are unaware. However, God does not dwell where he is not wanted nor needed. For us to enjoy the abiding presence of God in our lives, we have to invite him to come dwell with us. Inviting his presence into our lives, entails continuous studying and mediating of his word, fellowshipping with him as in the time of old. These spiritual practices brings him closer to us. The presence of God in our live gives us the strength and courage we need to carry on during trials and hard times, and also gives us hope for an eternal life where we will always spend time with God. In this blog, we will be exploring Bible verses that will inspire us to always abide in God’s presence.

The assurance that God’s presence is always with us is one comforting and empowering knowledge in Christianity. This knowledge boosts our spiritual immunity against all troubles. To feel and experience God’s presence, we must first acknowledge him as the overseer of our lives, accepting him as our personal Lord and Savior, because only a clean heart can access God’s throne and at such, let us ensure that our hearts and lives is aligned with God. It is important to know that God wants us close to him, not for his own interest but for own benefits. Whatever we do unto God, we do it for ourselves, for we all know that God does not need anyone to be called God, he is God all by himself. I hereby urge us all to always seek and abide in God’s presence undoubtedly, even when the going gets tough and tougher, let us remain in his presence. That is the only way we can be shielded and exempted from condemnation.

What Does The Bible Say About God’s Presence?

In several books of the Bible, we can see that God constantly calls us to himself. He encourages us to abide in him at all times;

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity”. This is God speaking to us through Jeremiah his prophet, here he encourages us to seek him wholeheartedly. He also assures us that when we seek him with all our heart, we will definitely find him, and if we are in any sort of captivity, he will deliver us from it. This is calling to draw near unto God.

Psalm 139:7-10 “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast”. This is a confession by David the Psalmist. Here he acknowledged that God can be found everywhere, even in the least expected place, he is there. It simply means that God is always present in our lives at every moment, ever ready to hold our hands and guide us through the walk of life.

Exodus 33:14 “The Lord replied, ‘My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest”. This is an assurance from God that his presence will always go with us, giving us rest on every side. Let us study these comforting scriptures below;
