Fishing in literal terms means the catching of fish for food, sports, as a hobby or for commercial purposes, but in the, Bible fishing represents winning of souls for the kingdom of God. Simeon Peter in the Bible was a fisher man who fished for the sole purpose of making financial income, but when Jesus found him and his brother Andrew at the lake of Galilee where they were fishing, he asked them to follow him and he will make them fishers of men. Jesus specifically asked Simeon Peter and Andrew to follow him so that he could empower them for effective fishing of disciples into the kingdom of God to fulfill his purpose. What does the Bible say about fishing?

Jesus instructed us in the book of Matthew 4:19 to follow him and he will send us out to be fishers of men, which means bringing more souls and disciples into his kingdom to fulfill God’s plans and also depopulate the kingdom of darkness.
