To be steadfast in Christ means to be unchanging, continually devoted and loyal to the person of God and his kingdom works. Steadfastness is one quality that needs to be developed by every true believer of Christ. Being steadfast teaches us that Christ is the center of all that we do and by so doing our lifestyle, choices and work ought to revolve around him. There is no better way to get closer to God other than holding unto him. Christ himself is the perfect example of a person that maintained steadfastness. We can see through the scripture that Jesus held unto God through out his stay and reign on earth. Even when he was faced with difficult challenges, he still held God tight. He continued to be devoted to the work that he was sent to do, he stayed loyal to his father. This level of commitment is what is expected of us as Christ followers. Although we live in a world that throws various kinds of discomfort and situations our way, the Bible still urges us to maintain our stand in Christ and be unmovable in him.
Steadfastness is a central theme in the Bible. However, to be steadfast in Christ requires certain kinds of spiritual practices and these practices are ones that are deeply rooted in commitment, discipline and consecration. To be steadfast in God, one needs to meditate and fill his mind with the powerful words of God, avoid distractions of any kind and be spiritually grounded in Christ. To be spiritually grounded in Christ means knowing Christ deeply and standing on what you know about him. As followers of Christ, we have been called to make God our focus in life, all that we do should plainly and only speak of him in glorious manner. Being steadfast strengthens our faith in God, builds a stronger relationship in God and gives us absolute peace and joy that the world cannot give. Let us strive to maintain our faith in God as this will give us security in life.

What Does The Bible Teach About Being Steadfast?
The Bible continues to urge us in various ways to remain steadfast fast in Christ. Steadfastness is one message that Apostle Paul continued to teach the early Christians, he implored them to be unmovable in Christ, giving themselves wholly to God and the things that pertains to his kingdom. The same message is still being passed unto us. God requires us to be unshakable in him, no matter the circumstance that comes our way, our complete service and reverence is needed.
1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain”. Apostle Paul encourages us in this verse to stand firm in Christ, giving ourselves fully to God. This scriptures also emphasizes that is are blessing attached to steadfastness.
Matthew 24:13 “But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved”. Steadfastness in Christ saves us from eternal damnation and from the wrath of God. Steadfastness in Christ increases our chance of seeing the face of God in glory.
1 Corinthians 16:13 “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong”. Apostle Paul encourages us to continue to stand firm in faith. Conclusively, steadfastness is a like a booster, it boosts our faith in God and it is one practice that keeps to keep us in track.
