Prayer for an Adventurous Spirit
Dear God,
I praise You for being the Creator and Sustainer of adventure.
You have invited me into this wide-eyed adventure of following Jesus.
Prepare my steps. Provide the way.
Silence my trepidations. Boost my faith.
Raise my courage. Increase my resolve.
Break the false spirit of fear over my life.
Remind me of my true adventurous identity,
My spiritual birthright.
You knew the very best option
for the salvation of the world
was to leave heaven’s comfort zone,
embrace humanity,
die a criminal’s death,
and raise back to life in the greatest surprise of history.
This is who You are.
And I am Your child.
With this same Holy Spirit embedded in me,
Breathe the wind of Your “Yes” over me.
Give me a Peter heart,
daring to dance upon the deep,
knowing with certainty, that You are with me,
and always mighty to save.
Do not withhold the fullness of Your adventure available to me.
Expand my trust.
Enlarge the borders of my boldness.
For You are my Personal Bravery.
In Jesus name,
Amen.
