It is important we prepare ourselves to become excellent parents. Raising a child is a very difficult task that cannot be achieved successfully with just our human strength and mental make-up. Training the gifts that God have given to us requires special grace from God. If we fail to train them to become godly children as proposed by the Bible, we will suffer the aftermath, that is why it is necessary we train our minds, spirit and intellect before they arrive. One principal virtue we need to possess as parents, is the virtue of patience. If we lack patience as parents, then we are mostly likely to destroy our seeds by ourselves, either by actions or words. There are cases where some parents have laid curses on their children as a result of anger. In order to avoid these ugly situations, we have to earnestly ask God for the virtue of patience to be bestowed on us.

What Does The Bible Say About Infertility?

God is good and merciful and will never allow his own to suffer in any kind of way. The Bible declares the graciousness of God and the earth sing his praises. In the Bible we can see that that there are some women we waited on the Lord for the fruit of the womb and they were not disappointed. Let us look at the life of Mama Sarah;

Genesis 21:1-2 “And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had said. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age , at the set time of which God had spoken to him”. This passage explains to us that Sarah had a child at old age, exactly the time God said he was going to bless her womb. According to nature and science laws, it was impossible for Sarah to conceive at the age she conceived. This is an evidence that God is is a doer of the impossible things, he breaks protocols just to bring to pass his words and promises. Taking us further, let us also see the life of Hannah.

1 Samuel 1:20 “Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying because I have asked him of the Lord”. Hannah also waited on the Lord to bless her womb. She was mocked by her co wife Peninnah. But all those pain didn’t make her give up on God, She cried unto him like a drunken woman at the Shiloh ground. God heard her cries and blessed her womb with a child called Samuel, a child of promise.

Psalms 113:9 “He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord”. This an authentic word from God that he blesses the womb of every married woman. No matter the delay in child bearing, God’s words should be our anchor. Here are some Bible verses that will strengthen expectant parents during their days of waiting;
